Free food and assistance is offered for those in need by the Coalition Against Hunger. Please share with anyone you know who may be in need one of their “street sheets” for free food access in ten different areas within the five boroughs.

Free food at this list of food pantries.

Food Bank for New York City offers the program Community Kitchen which offers a Soup Kitchen (prepares and serves 8,000 meals every month to New Yorkers in need) and a Food Pantry (allows low-income New Yorkers to select fresh produce and packaged food items themselves in a supermarket-style setting — helping provide food for more than 22,700 meals a month).

If you are over the age of 60 years old and have no friends or family to help you prepare nutritious meals you may be eligible for Citymeals on Wheels.
